Environmentally Sustainable Councils I
Roundtable
Mar 5, 2009
Our task is to consider the way in which local government is run today in order to innovate a few policies that could be implemented by an authority determined to improve its environmental performance.
The by-products will include:
- Guiding principles for councils looking to embed sustainability
- A list of innovative suggestions from local government stakeholders
- A long-list of ideas with clear reasons for those discounted
Going forward councils will be invited to pilot this forum’s innovations. These pilots will each change and shape the innovations creating new nuances and levels of detail as they develop. Progress and lessons learnt from these pilots will be shared throughout the local government community.
