Green paper 'will not risk' personalisation agenda
Author: Local Government Chronicle - Jul 22, 2009
Local Government Association claims that one suggested funding model in the just-published social care green paper is “at odds” with the personalisation agenda have been called into question.
Jeff Jerome, personalisation lead at the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services, insisted the argument was flawed.
He said the LGA may have misunderstood assertions in Shaping the Future of Care Together that suggested a proposed national funding model offering service users identical payments would damage local flexibility and compromise relations with the NHS.
“There is nothing I see in the green paper that would risk the personalisation of services,” Mr Jerome said.
