Roundtable | Are public health cuts a false economy? 28th February

Localis are holding a private roundtable on whether public health cuts are a false economy. The discussion will be chaired by former Health Minister Dr Dan Poulter MP.

Discussion will focus on:

  • how investment in public health can lead to positive health and broader social outcomes
  • whether cuts in funding for public health lead to increased costs further down the line for the NHS, which has to deal with the consequences of public health problems such as obesity and smoking
  • possible policy initiatives the Government could adopt to support effective public health programmes

This roundtable will be held on 28th February in Westminster. If you would be interested in hearing more about this event, please contact kulvir.channa@localis.org.uk
