Christmas time is here by golly: disapproval would be folly.
Deck the halls with hunks of holly, fill the cup and don’t say when.
Kill the turkeys, ducks and chickens, mix the punch, drag out the Dickens.
Even though the prospect sickens—brother, here we go again.

Thomas Lehrer, Poet, Songwriter, Pianist, Humbug

The 1st of December officially marks the start of our unproductive grind to the holiday season. Hence why you’re getting this on the 5th of December. I’m happy to confirm our tardiness is as much to do with the weight of work as it is any ‘easing in’ or pavlovian regression at the first snifter of mulled wine. Not to say that there won’t be any of that, just we’re a ways off yet.

We’ve started two major new projects in the last couple of weeks, The Making of an Industrial Strategy and Frontiers of the Family. We’ve also got a roundtable on digital disruption in communities with the good people at Next Door (acclaimed the ‘Facebook of neighbourhoods’ in the US) later this week. Further details only a click away.

I’m keeping this missive short and sweet, so brothers and sisters, be good to one another, remember moderation in all things, including moderation, spare a thought for those less fortunate (and if you have one, a coin too) and most all, have a wonderful Christmas.

With all the love of the season,

Liam
