Localis at the LGA Conference

Localis at the LGA Conference

Localis is looking forward to hosting events with council leaders and policy makers from local authorities across the country at the LGA Conference in Birmingham this year.

As part of a full programme of events, on Tuesday 3 July, we will be hosting a private dinner with a number of key figures from local government where we will consider the extent to which local government as a sector can rely upon continued  innovation to fund and deliver tomorrow’s local public services.

On Wednesday 4 July we will be hosting a breakfast seminar from 8.15 a.m. to 9.15 a.m. to formally launch the Second Grimsey Review into the future of the high street.

Join retail expert Bill Grimsey, West Midlands Mayor Andy Street and a panel of experts to discuss and explore:

• the role of community, place and economy in keeping high streets vibrant and relevant;

• how local government and others can use to develop and evolve town centres;

• ways to improve role of towns in fast changing economic, demographic and political environment;

From 10 a.m. to 12 noon we will be hosting an invitation-only roundtable discussion on how local investment can drive sustainable economic growth and civic renewal.

Wednesday will also see our annual drinks reception – held this year with media partners The MJ at the Library of Birmingham, Centenary Square, Broad Street, Birmingham B1 2ND from 6pm until 7pm.  Ticket information will be announced shortly.

Our events at LGA Conference 2018 are kindly sponsored by Norse and Willmott Dixon.
